KPUD graft case goes to court
JAKARTA: Head of the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office Rusdi Taher said graft cases involving three staff members of the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPUD) had been submitted to the South Jakarta District Court on Monday.
"We have completed drafting the charges and I was informed that it would be submitted to court today (on Monday)," Rusdi said during a hearing with the House of Representatives' Commission III for legal affairs.
The corruption cases, which were reported by the City Council's Commission A for legal and administrative affairs early this year, allegedly involve KPUD chairman Muhamad Taufik, treasurer Neneng Euis Pahlupi, and KPUD member A Riza Patria.
Rusdi was quoted by detik.com as saying that the state allegedly suffered some Rp 9 billion (US$900,000) in losses over the cases, which included alleged mark-ups on various procurements in organizing legislative and presidential elections in 2004. -- JP
