KPU to train poll organizers

JAKARTA: The General Elections Commission (KPU) said on
Wednesday that it would train election organizers from all levels
to improve their skills in preparing for the July 5 presidential
polls.

KPU Deputy Chairman Ramlan Surbakti told reporters here that
the training sessions would seek to rectify errors made by poll
organizers during the April 5 legislative election. "We have to
admit that we did not give them enough training," Ramlan said.

The commission has over Rp 6 billion to pay for the training
program, provided by the United Nations Development Program
(UNDP). --JP
