KPU to provide less ink for July 5 poll

JAKARTA: The General Elections Commission (KPU) has decided to reduce the amount of ink that will be used to mark voters' fingers after they cast ballots in the July 5 presidential election.

The KPU member overseeing the ink procurement, Valina Singka Subekti, said on Monday the commission would allocate one bottle containing 30 cubic centimeters of ink for each polling station, down from two bottles containing 40 cubic centimeters for the April 5 legislative election.

The step is being taken to reduce the cost of procuring the ink, she said. -- JP
