KPU misses House hearing for 3rd time

JAKARTA: Legislators on House of Representatives Commission II for legal affairs criticized the General Elections Commission (KPU) on Tuesday for failing to show up at the House for a third time.

The commission had scheduled the third hearing on Tuesday, but the KPU did not show up, as in the previous two hearings.

The KPU has offered May 14 as a fourth appointment, but the legislators want them to show up on Wednesday (May 12).

Commission II chairman Agustin Teras Narang said KPU members should respect the task of legislators, which is to supervise the preparations for the presidential election. --JP
