KPU Jakarta names new PPP councillor

JAKARTA: The Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU
Jakarta) declared on Monday that United Development Party (PPP)
politician Mariyasih would replace councillor Darmansyah of the
Star Reform Party (PBR).

The decision was made in a plenary session, following the
recent verdict issued by the Constitutional Court that accepted
PPP's complaint over the mistake in the calculation of votes in
the April 5 election in East Jakarta.

The court's decision is final and binding.

The decision changed the number of PPP's seats in the City
Council from six to seven, while the number of PBR seats
decreased from three to two. -- JP
