KPU delays screening results

JAKARTA: The General Elections Commission (KPU) has delayed
until Tuesday the announcement of its screening of legislative
candidates nominated by political parties.

KPU member in charge of the verification Anas Urbaningrum said
on Monday the delay was prompted as a number of aspiring
legislators had not yet completed the required documents.

"The aspirants have not completed their documentation on
wealth reporting, health and crime records from the court," he
said.

After Tuesday's announcement, the candidates will be given 14
days until Jan. 19 to complete their documentation.

KPU will produce the final list of legislative candidates on
Jan. 27, and announce the outcome publicly on Jan. 28 and Jan.
