KPU bomb suspect still unidentified

JAKARTA: The police remain unable to sketch the face of the person alleged to have perpetrated a minor explosion at the General Elections Commission (KPU) head office on Monday.

"Witnesses saw a man enter a rest room on that day. We hope the witnesses can describe the face of the man," said Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Firman Gani on Wednesday.

He added that the police are currently studying the accounts of 11 witnesses questioned over the blast and analyzing the incoming phone calls to the KPU on that day.

He said KPU security guards had followed the procedure by calling the police bomb squad, but the explosive detonated before the squad managed to defuse it. --Antara
