KPPU Requests Additional Budget of Rp 423.36 Billion from Parliament

The Indonesian Competition Commission (KPPU) has proposed an additional budget (ABT) for the 2027 fiscal year amounting to Rp 423.36 billion. This request is beyond the indicative ceiling that has been set at Rp 88.26 billion.

KPPU Chairman Gopprera Panggabean stated that the proposed additional budget is intended to support work programmes aligned with national priorities. This includes creating a productive and competitive investment climate.

‘By optimising KPPU’s essential duties and functions in supervising business competition and partnerships, we aim to support the achievement of national priority targets, continue downstream processing, and develop resource-based industries to increase domestic added value,’ he said during a hearing with House of Representatives Commission VI in Jakarta on Thursday (16/7/2026).

He detailed that of the total proposed additional budget for 2027, Rp 257.02 billion will be allocated to the business competition and partnership supervision programme to implement KPPU’s or the president’s priority programmes. The remaining Rp 166.33 billion is allocated to the management support programme for non-operational activities.

Of the total management support programme budget, Rp 61.68 billion is intended for non-operational expenditure, Rp 67.16 billion for operational expenditure in the form of employee salaries, and Rp 37.48 billion for operational expenditure for office maintenance.

‘For the proposed KPPU ABT for the 2027 fiscal year, we respectfully request the support of the leaders and members of Commission VI of the House of Representatives for the allocation of the 2027 budget ceiling,’ he explained. He expressed hope that the DPR would provide support so that KPPU can continue to carry out its mandate in accordance with the demands of the law and the public.
