KPK's Sharp Response to Nusron Wahid for Missing Corruption Case Questioning at ATR/BPN
Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has said that Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister and Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid has failed to manage his time properly.
“Investigators sent a summons at the start of last week. So, if the reason is that there is already a scheduled ministry activity, then with a tolerance of a different week, it seems he is not managing his time well,” said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday (8 October 2026).
Setyo made the remarks after Nusron Wahid did not appear as a witness in an alleged corruption case within the ATR/BPN ministry on 7 October 2026, citing an internal ministry agenda.
Setyo therefore called on Nusron to honour his commitment, made when answering journalists’ questions on 18 September 2026, just days after the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) at the ministry.
“The minister stated in the media on Friday, 18 September 2026, that he would respect the process being undertaken by law enforcement, in this case the KPK, and would follow and help the process. The KPK hopes that he will keep to that commitment,” he said.
Meanwhile, he believes KPK investigators will reschedule the questioning of Nusron.
“With his absence, I am confident that investigators will reschedule the planned examination,” he said.
The case began with a KPK sting operation in the Jabodetabek area on 14 September 2026, related to alleged corruption in the handling of a building use right (hak guna bangunan) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor Regency, West Java.
A day after the operation, the KPK named eight people as suspects in the alleged bribery case within the ATR/BPN ministry.
They are Director General for Land Control and Land Management at the ATR/BPN ministry, Lampri; Head of the Bogor I Land Office, Sontang Coin Manurung; President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, Adrianto Pitojo Adhi; and Rizal Pahlevi, a private party or intermediary for Summarecon.
Other suspects include former Kebumen Regent Arif Sugiyanto; Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Central Leadership Board (DPP) Fahd El Fouz, also known as Fahd Arafiq; and private individuals Erwin and Muhammad Fakhry. The KPK alleges that all four are trusted associates of Nusron.
