The KPK has revealed findings of officials using official vehicles (mobdin) for Eid travel in 2026. The KPK is urging regional inspectorates to promptly evaluate regulations regarding the prohibition on using mobdin for personal purposes.

This was stated by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo. He noted that using mobdin for Eid travel could create opportunities for officials to misuse state or regional facilities.

“The KPK has received information that there is still misuse of official vehicles in several agencies for personal and non-official purposes. Therefore, we urge regional heads and inspectorates to immediately conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the misuse of official vehicles in their environments,” said Budi to reporters on Saturday (28/3/2026).

Budi stated that evaluating regulations is crucial to ensure no misuse of state facilities for personal interests, including during Eid travel activities. This evaluation is also part of maintaining the accountability and integrity of state officials.

“The evaluation is part of efforts to maintain the accountability and integrity of State Organisers (PN) and Civil Servants (ASN),” he said.

Budi explained that official vehicles, whether rented or owned by the state or region, are positional facilities. Their use is regulated solely for office operational or official purposes.

According to Budi, using official vehicles for personal purposes is a deviation and potentially opens the door to corrupt practices. He stated that corruption risks not only arise from misuse of authority or position but also from misuse of state facilities.

“Practices often considered simple, such as using official vehicles for personal purposes, actually reflect conflicts of interest and can impact state financial losses as well as erode public trust,” said Budi.

Therefore, the KPK encourages the active role of regional inspectorates in conducting supervision and internal audits, including tracing the use of official vehicles during the Eid holiday period. Strengthening supervisory functions is key to ensuring compliance and preventing repeated violations.

Previously, the KPK had also reminded all ministries/institutions and regional governments through Circular Letter No. 2 of 2026 on Controlling and Preventing Holiday Gratifications. In the letter, the KPK emphasised that utilising state facilities for personal purposes constitutes a conflict of interest that contradicts principles of integrity and accountability.

As a corruption prevention measure, findings from the Monitoring Controlling Surveillance for Prevention (MCSP) instrument show that the area of regional asset management (BMD) still faces serious challenges.

The KPK highlighted indicators in the BMD management component that have declined year on year. In MCSP 2024, BMD management was at 70, but in the following year it dropped to 59. Similarly, the accountability component related to BMD misuse only scored 68.

These findings align with the Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI) results, which show a decline in the integrity component in task implementation. In 2024, the area was rated 74.08, but it fell to 73.91 in 2025.

Based on these findings, the KPK encourages strengthening and supervising systems to prevent misuse of assets not in accordance with their purpose. Additionally, the KPK hopes for public participation if indications are found to report them immediately to the KPK’s complaint channels.

“Through optimising inspectorate functions and active public roles, we can certainly strengthen the system and enforcement of discipline more massively, to ensure effective supervision, especially regarding the use of official vehicles to remain in accordance with their purpose,” he added.
