Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated it will not pursue alleged ethics violations committed by Setya Budi Dias, a police officer assigned to the KPK who was named a suspect in an alleged extortion case within the Pemalang Regency Government.

“For DIS, this is not within the realm of ethics enforcement at the KPK or the Supervisory Board because he is no longer part of the Commission,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Monday.

Nevertheless, Budi said the KPK will continue to conduct evaluations to prevent similar cases from occurring.

Dias was previously suspected by the KPK of leaking investigation information to his father. His father then used that information to carry out extortion.

“Of course, the Supervisory Board also needs to evaluate business processes, especially in the administrative field, so that such things do not happen again,” he said.

On 30 July 2026, the KPK announced the results of the sting operation and stated there were two clusters of cases.

First, alleged extortion by Anom Widiyantoro against Pemalang Regency Government officials and private parties. In this cluster, the suspects are Anom Widiyantoro and his confidant, Mohamad Haris alias Gus Haris.

Second, alleged extortion by a police officer and his father against Anom Widiyantoro. The suspects in this cluster are Setya Budi Dias, a police officer assigned to the KPK, and his father, Lilik Budi Suprianto.
