KPK: West Lombok Regent Received Bribes Including Alphard, Hermes, and Sacrificial Cow

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ) of accepting bribes in the form of money and goods, with a total value of Rp 1.6 billion. The alleged corruption involves a conflict of interest in the procurement of goods and services for projects under the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, and Settlement Areas Agency (PUPRPKP) and other agencies. LAZ is also suspected of receiving money, goods, and facilities from Alvonsus Gani, the President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument. PT MSI is a vendor for PT AMGM, the regional drinking water company in West Lombok. According to the KPK, PT MSI secured a clean water management project in West Lombok worth Rp 27.1 billion and routinely provided bribes to the regent. The items and cash allegedly received include a Toyota Alphard worth Rp 1.2 billion, a pair of Hermes shoes worth Rp 19 million, travel accommodation for the Lombok-Jakarta route, cash amounting to at least Rp 380 million, an iPhone 17 Pro worth Rp 26 million, and a sacrificial cow worth Rp 17 million. The KPK has named three suspects in the case: Lalu Ahmad Zaini, the Regent of West Lombok; Sudirman, the President Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang West Lombok; and Alvonsus Gani, the President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument.
