JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has found that West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini received bribes related to goods and services procurement. The KPK discovered the bribes took the form of money, goods and luxury vehicles with a total value of around Rp 1.6 billion.

The findings relate to the case in which Lalu Ahmad Zaini became a suspect after being caught in a KPK sting operation.

The KPK detected that Lalu Ahmad Zaini received various gifts from private parties, suggesting the case involves more than just a suspected conflict of interest in the procurement of goods and services for West Lombok Regency government projects.

“LAZ is also suspected of receiving sums of money, goods or facilities from Alvonsus Gani, the President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument (MSI). PT MSI is a vendor of PT AMGM, which is the regional drinking water company in West Lombok,” said Acting Director of KPK Investigations, Achmad Taufik Husein, at a press conference on Tuesday (21/7/2026).

Achmad said PT MSI had been awarded a clean water management project in West Lombok Regency with a contract value of Rp 27.1 billion. Throughout the process, PT MSI is suspected of regularly paying bribes to Lalu Ahmad Zaini.

Achmad detailed the goods and facilities allegedly given to Lalu Ahmad Zaini: a Toyota Alphard worth Rp 1.2 billion, a pair of Hermes shoes worth Rp 19 million.

In addition, there were return travel accommodation between Lombok and Jakarta, cash of around Rp 380 million, an iPhone 17 Pro valued at Rp 26 million, and a sacrificial cow estimated at around Rp 17 million. All of these goods and facilities are suspected to be part of bribery practices connected to procurement projects at the West Lombok Regency Government.

“We are continuing to investigate the flow of funds and the involvement of other parties in this case,” said Achmad.
