KPK Welcomes Appointment of Nine Prosecutors in Former Jampidsus Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) views the Attorney General’s Office’s decision to appoint nine prosecutors to handle the corruption case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah as a positive step. ‘We see this as positive progress because the Attorney General’s Office promptly formed a special team whose members include former KPK personnel,’ said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday. Regarding the former KPK personnel who are part of the nine prosecutors, Budi stated they possess the competence needed to assist in the investigation of the former Jampidsus’s case. ‘We see that the competence and experience they gained while serving at the KPK are needed to help in the investigation process of this case,’ he said. ‘If indeed there are obstacles, challenges, or hindrances later, we can work together to resolve them because from the beginning, the KPK has been communicating intensively, albeit informally, with colleagues in the Police and the Attorney General’s Office,’ he added. Previously, the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) announced on 6 July 2026 an investigation into alleged corruption and money laundering in the procurement and fulfilment of coal supplies for a number of steam power plants for the 2018-2026 period. Febrie Adriansyah responded to the police action through a press conference on 10 July 2026. A day later, the Attorney General’s Office announced that Febri Adriansyah had resigned from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin had accepted the resignation. On the same afternoon, Kortastipidkor announced two suspects in the case. The nine prosecutors appointed by the Attorney General’s Office to handle the case are: 1. Inspector of Finance II Agus Salim; 2. Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office Muhibuddin; 3. Director of Tracking and Forfeiture at the Asset Recovery Agency Chatarina Muliana Girsang; 4. Inspector of Finance I Riyono; 5. Secretary of the Junior Attorney General for General Crimes Agus Sahat; 6. Director of Legal Considerations at the Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administration Irene Putri; 7. Deputy Head of the Banten High Prosecutor’s Office Rinaldi Umar; 8. Director of Prosecution at the Junior Attorney General for Military Crimes Zet Tadung Allo; and 9. Director A at the Junior Attorney General for General Crimes Hari Wibowo. Both Chatarina and Muhibuddin previously served at the KPK before returning to the Attorney General’s Office.
