The KPK has warned government officials against soliciting Eid bonuses (THR) by taking advantage of the Ramadan period. The KPK asserts that such actions are contrary to the code of ethics for civil servants (ASN) and also have the potential for corruption.

“Of course, the KPK, in the context of prevention, continues to urge that there should be no practices of requesting THR, in any form,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

“This is clearly in conflict with the code of ethics or regulations, not only regarding criminal acts of corruption, but it also certainly violates the ethics of being a civil servant,” he added.

The KPK also urges all parties, including the private sector, not to give gifts or money to officials or civil servants. This is to prevent it from turning into gratuity.

“Therefore, the KPK continues to urge not only the government side, ASN and state officials, but also the private sector, not to take the initiative to give gratuity in any form,” he said.

If such gratuity is given, it is feared that it will lead to conflicts of interest. The giving of gifts could ultimately become an act of corruption.

“This has the potential to later create conflicts of interest. This is also a risk that could later lead to criminal acts of corruption,” said Budi.
