KPK Warns Nusron Not to Delay Law Enforcement
JAKARTA — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to resummon Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister Nusron Wahid (NW) after he failed to attend his first summons on Wednesday (7 October 2026). The summons relates to an alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).
The KPK has not yet specified when the rescheduled questioning will take place. KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo urged Nusron to co-operate with the new summons.
“Investigators will reschedule the questioning of Mr NW as soon as possible. The KPK urges the witness to co-operate and attend the rescheduled questioning, and to prioritise compliance with and respect for the ongoing legal process,” Budi said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday (8 October 2026).
Budi said KPK investigators had emphasised that Nusron, as a public official, should set an example for the public. He also urged him to comply with the ongoing law-enforcement process.
“Every person asked to provide information is, in principle, helping the ongoing legal process, including by enabling investigators to establish the full circumstances of the case,” Budi said.
He warned that continued delays could carry risks for Nusron, including creating the impression that he was delaying law enforcement. “We must not allow a perception or precedent to emerge that the enforcement of the law is being repeatedly delayed,” Budi said.
Earlier, acting KPK director of investigations Achmad Taufik Husein said investigators would trace the intended use of the money, including information alleging that it was used for organisational activities. Taufik said information about whether the funds were used for organisational activities or Nusron Wahid’s personal interests formed part of the investigation.
Separately, the KPK seized Rp106.3 billion in cash, in rupiah and foreign currencies, as evidence in an alleged bribery case involving the processing of building-use rights (HGB) at the National Land Agency office in Bogor Regency, West Java. Eight people have been named suspects in the case.
The evidence was seized during a series of sting operations on 14 September 2026. The KPK announced the eight suspects after finding sufficient evidence. They are ATR/BPN Ministry director-general Lampri (LMP), Sontang Coin Manurung (SON), Adrianto Pitoyo Adi (ADR), Arif Sugiyanto (ARF), Fahd El Fouz (FEZ), Rizal Pahlevi (LEV), Erwin (ERW) and Muhammad Fakhry (MF).
The alleged bribe-givers, ADR and LEV, are suspected of violating Article 605(1)(a) or (b), or Article 606(1) of the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Law No. 1 of 2026 and Article 20 of the Criminal Code. The alleged bribe recipients — SON, ERW, LMP, ARF, FEZ and MF — face charges under Article 12(a) or (b) and/or Article 12B of Law No. 31 of 1999, as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on the Eradication of Corruption, or Article 606(2) of the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Law No. 1 of 2026 and Article 20 of the Criminal Code.
