Photos of stacks of foreign currency have gone viral on social media, being linked to the search of the home of the former Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Silmy Karim. The KPK has stated that these photos did not originate from Silmy’s house.

In the images viewed on Monday (8/6/202 Mitigating), stacks of money can be seen on a mattress, the floor, and inside a cupboard. Near the money, car keys and a wristwatch are visible lying on a table.

“We wish to clarify that the photos of foreign currency stacks circulating widely on social media were not part of the KPK’s search activities at the house of SK (Silmy Karim),” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when asked for confirmation on Monday (8/6/2026).

It is known that the KPK searched Silmy Karim’s house on Jalan Brawijaya, South Jakarta, on Friday (5/6). During that operation, the KPK seized a sports car, a large-capacity motorcycle, and foreign currency. Silmy Karim has been detained by the KPK. In addition to Silmy, seven other individuals have been named as suspects.

Silmy and his associates are facing charges related to extortion and gratification. Investigators have also seized several pieces of evidence in this case, including foreign currency in the form of US Dollars and Singapore Dollars, as well as precious metals and various vehicles.

  5. Sub-Director in the Directorate of Stay Permits, Bagus Bramantyo (BGS)

  6. Head of Central Jakarta Immigration Office 2024-2025 and Head of Class I Special Non-TPI Jakarta West Immigration Office 2025-2026, Ronald Arman Abdullah (RAA)

  7. Leader of the ITAS Status Change Team, Juniadi Sri Priambudi (JSP)

  8. Staff of the Stay Permit Sub-directorate, Gusti Benar.
