KPK Urges Judge to Reject Yaqut's Pretrial in the Additional Hajj Quota Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked a single judge of the South Jakarta District Court, Sulistyo Muhammad Dwi Putro, to deny the pretrial application filed by former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, who is a suspect in the alleged corruption case over the additional Hajj quota.
In substance, one: to accept and grant the respondent’s answer in full. Two: to reject the pretrial application registered under case register number 19/Pid.Pra/2026 PN Jakarta Selatan or at least declare the pretrial application inadmissible, the KPK Legal Bureau said as it read out the petition in the Oemar Seno Adji courtroom of the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday, 4 March.
The Biro Hukum KPK stated that Yaqut’s counsel had erred in determining the object of the dispute (error in objecto) and that the grounds of the application are not within the remit of the Pretrial Judge to adjudicate.”
