KPK urges all regional heads in Southeast Sulawesi to resolve problematic assets
Kendari (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) of the Republic of Indonesia requests that all regional heads in Southeast Sulawesi Province immediately resolve problematic regional assets.
Edi Suryanto, Director of Coordination and Supervision for Region IV of the KPK, stated in Kendari on Thursday that resolving problematic assets at the district/city level is one of the main focuses due to their continued accumulation.
“Regarding problematic assets, many remain unresolved at the district/city level. However, praise be to God, they are being addressed one by one. We know each region has different issues,” said Edi Suryanto after holding a Coordination Meeting on Corruption Prevention related to public services in land affairs and the management of regional owned goods (BMD), with all regional heads from 17 districts and cities across Southeast Sulawesi.
In addition to asset issues, Edi highlighted improvements in public services in the land sector and the optimisation of regional own-source revenue (PAD). The KPK assesses that Sulawesi’s revenue potential is very large but has not been managed maximally to enter the regional treasury.
He explained that amid the national economic condition experiencing a decline in budget transfer values from the central government, the KPK encourages regional governments in Southeast Sulawesi to be more creative in exploring revenue potential without violating regulations.
“With this decline in transfers, it becomes both an opportunity and a challenge for regions to be more creative in managing existing resources to prevent criminal acts of corruption,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Andi Tenri Abeng, Staff Expert in Community Participation and Regional Government from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), expressed readiness to synchronise work programmes. There are nine points of focus for cooperation, starting from land service integration to accelerating the preparation of detailed spatial plans (RDTR).
She explained that the government targets this collaboration to improve investment ease, data accuracy, and strengthen protection of regional assets.
“Collaboration with all relevant parties is expected to minimise land conflicts and increase public satisfaction with services,” said Andi Tenri.
At the same location, Acting Regional Secretary of Southeast Sulawesi Fadlansyah instructed all regional apparatus organisations (OPD) to immediately follow up on the points raised by the KPK.
“This step is taken as a commitment by the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government to create clean and accountable governance,” he said.
