KPK Unveils Three New Prisoner Transport Vehicles
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has three new prisoner transport vehicles. The new KPK prisoner vehicles were seen parked at the KPK Building in South Jakarta.
Based on observation at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Friday (21/8/2026), the three new KPK prisoner vehicles were parked behind the building.
The new KPK prisoner vehicles are manufactured by Toyota. The type of vehicle used is the Toyota Hilux Rangga. The vehicles have a matte black colour.
The KPK has also affixed the words ‘Mobil Tahanan’ (Prisoner Vehicle) on the front windscreen and on the right and left sides of the vehicles. Meanwhile, red strobe lights or sirens are installed on the roof.
The appearance of the new KPK prisoner vehicles also looks different compared to the previous prisoner vehicles. The KPK’s previous prisoner vehicles were black Toyota Innova Reborn models.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the three new prisoner vehicles were purchased after the KPK successfully sold five old prisoner vehicles. Therefore, Budi said, the KPK needed new prisoner vehicles.
‘So in the previous auction stage, five prisoner vehicles were sold, so additional new prisoner vehicles were needed,’ Budi said.
‘And from the procurement process, there are three prisoner vehicle units that are ready to add to the operations needed to transport KPK detainees,’ he continued.
Regarding the specifications of the new prisoner vehicles, Budi said the KPK specifically requested them to be custom-made. One of the custom features is the detainee seating, which faces forward, with adjusted seating for prisoner escorts.
‘In the prisoner vehicle there is also a seat slot for the prisoner escort. This is also to guard detainees while they are inside the vehicle,’ he added.
