KPK Uncovers Irregular Fund Flows in Regional Development Bank Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that advertising procurement funds at the West Java and Banten Regional Development Bank (Bank BJB) for the 2021-2023 fiscal years were not used for their intended purpose. This was conveyed by Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, during a press conference on the detention of four out of five named suspects on Monday (10/8). “There are facts in the current investigation process that the activities at Bank BJB at that time contained findings of unlawful acts based on the audit results. This was then managed by Bank BJB and used, among other things, for money from agency fees,” Taufik stated at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday (10/8) evening. In connection with these allegations, the KPK had already examined former Member V of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK RI), Ahmadi Noor Supit, in August of last year. Taufik added that investigators are also looking into Bank BJB’s non-budgetary funds allocated for the interests of the West Java Provincial Government. At that time, the Governor of West Java was Ridwan Kamil, who has also been questioned as a witness. “There were other needs used by Bank BJB related to interests outside of its proper operations. For example, the use of funds for the provincial government is also being investigated by the team,” Taufik explained. “Furthermore, there are fund flows discovered that are suspected to involve nominee parties. This is currently being investigated,” he continued. Another party suspected of being linked to the case is Lisa Mariana Presley, who has also been examined as a witness. “We are also investigating that, because the fund flows used nominee parties. We cannot convey the details yet, we will wait for the developments because now that they are detained, there is a detention period that the investigation team must expedite. This means these developments will become part of what is developed,” Taufik said. The KPK has just detained four suspects in this case. They are Widi Hartoto, Head of the Change Management Office Division at Bank BJB and former Head of the Corporate Secretary Division from 2020-2024; Ikin Asikin Dulmanan, Director of PT Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri and owner of PT Antedja Muliatama; Suhendrik, Director of PT Wahana Semesta Bandung Ekspres; and Elang Sophan Jaya Kusuma, Commissioner of PT Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama. “The four suspects have been detained for the first 20 days, starting from 10 August to 29 August 2026, at the KPK Red and White Building Detention Centre,” Taufik said. The KPK was also supposed to detain another suspect, Yuddy Renaldi, the former President Director of PT Bank BJB from 2019 to March 2025. However, the individual claimed to be ill and requested a rescheduling. Taufik said investigators will follow up on this information. If the illness is genuine, a new schedule will be arranged. However, if the reason is fabricated, a forced arrest will be carried out.
