The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has alleged that West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini was involved in corruption across 32 project packages, including the rehabilitation of Gerung City Park, through conflicts of interest in the procurement of goods and services. KPK Acting Director of Investigations Achmad Taufik Husein stated that the rehabilitation project was valued at IDR 2.3 billion for the 2025 fiscal year, with a second phase of rehabilitation worth approximately IDR 4.3 billion in the 2026 fiscal year. Investigators also uncovered alleged corruption in the construction of a West Lombok Regency government building worth IDR 2.4 billion and the renovation of the West Lombok Regent’s Office worth IDR 1.7 billion.

The KPK suspects these projects were won through a practice of borrowing company flags by a firm owned by Sudirman, the President Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang (Perseroda), to participate in the tender process. Beyond the auctioned projects, the KPK also suspects corruption in 28 work packages using a direct appointment mechanism across various regional agencies and PT Air Minum Giri Menang. According to Taufik, Sudirman’s company gained a profit of around IDR 10.6 billion from the 32 project packages, which had a total value of IDR 17.9 billion. This figure, combined with proceeds from other projects, brings the total alleged conflict of interest value to approximately IDR 41.7 billion. The KPK suspects that Sudirman handed over around IDR 10.8 billion to Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini. The KPK has named Lalu Ahmad Zaini, Sudirman, and Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument Alvonsus Gani as suspects in this case.
