KPK Uncovers Additional Hajj Quota Scheme, Asset Tracing of Suspects Now Main Focus

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is continuing to develop its investigation into the alleged corruption case concerning Indonesia’s hajj quotas for 2023-2024. In the latest examination, investigators are delving into the process of filling additional hajj quotas for special hajj pilgrimage organisers (PIHK) while simultaneously tracing a number of assets suspected to be related to the case. The deepening investigation was carried out when the KPK examined three witnesses on Monday, 15 June 2026. The three witnesses questioned have the initials ICH, as Building Manager of Pasar Baru Mansion Apartments, KIN, as Director of PT Trikarya Idea Sakti, and FIR, who is a finance staff member of PT Raudah Eksati Utama. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the examination was focused on gathering information regarding the mechanism for filling the additional hajj quotas granted to special hajj pilgrimage organisers, as well as tracing assets linked to the case under investigation. “The witnesses were, among other things, investigated regarding the process and filling of additional hajj quotas at PIHK and also concerning asset tracing,” Budi Prasetyo told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. Beyond collecting statements from witnesses, the KPK is currently paying significant attention to tracing assets suspected to be connected to the suspects in the hajj quota case. According to Budi, investigators are still probing whether a number of discovered assets have a direct link to the alleged criminal act of corruption being handled. This step is taken as part of efforts to recover state losses, which is one of the main objectives in the law enforcement process against corruption. “This is also a concern for investigators in order to recover the state’s finances,” said Budi. Asset tracing is an important stage in the investigation because it can help investigators identify the source of wealth acquisition suspected to originate from criminal proceeds or having a connection to the flow of funds being investigated. The investigation into the alleged corruption of Indonesia’s 2023-2024 hajj quotas entered the investigation phase on 9 August 2025. Since then, the KPK has conducted a series of examinations, evidence collection, and in-depth probes into various parties suspected of knowing about or being involved in the management of hajj quotas during that period.
