KPK: Tulungagung Regent Targets Rp5 Billion, But Receives Rp2.7 Billion

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo (GSW) targeted obtaining Rp5 billion from 16 heads of regional device organisations (OPD) within the Tulungagung Regency Government, East Java.

Nevertheless, KPK said Gatut Sunu only received Rp2.7 billion from those Tulungagung OPD heads since December 2025 to early April 2026.

“From the total demand by GSW to the OPDs, at least Rp5 billion, the realisation of money received by GSW is approximately Rp2.7 billion,” said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK Red White Building, Jakarta, on Saturday (11/4) night.

Furthermore, Asep explained there were two schemes for demanding money carried out by Gatut Sunu.

First, he said, requesting money directly or through his aide intermediary to the Tulungagung OPD heads. The amount requested ranged from Rp15 million to Rp2.8 billion.

“Quota requests were also made by GSW by adding or shifting budgets in several OPDs. So, he comes to the OPD, then I add the budget for this OPD, for example 10, then he asks from there, from 10 he asks a certain percentage,” he said.

He stated that in the second scheme, Gatut Sunu set 50 percent of the value of the added budget to those OPDs.

“For example, if Rp100 million was added earlier, he asks for Rp50 million, even before that budget is disbursed or given to the OPD,” he explained.

KPK arrested 18 people in that hand arrest operation, including Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his younger brother, who is also a member of the Tulungagung DPRD, Jatmiko Dwijo Saputro.

A day later, or on 11 April 2026, KPK brought Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his brother along with 11 others to Jakarta for intensive examination.

On the same date, KPK announced Gatut Sunu Wibowo (GSW) along with Dwi Yoga Ambal (YOG), his aide, as suspects in the alleged extortion and other receptions case in the Tulungagung Regency Government environment for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
