KPK transports 13 suspects to Jakarta during Cilacap Regent's arrest operation
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) transported 13 of 27 individuals detained during an arrest operation against Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman to the KPK headquarters in Jakarta on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
“Of the 27 individuals secured at the location, 13 were transported to Jakarta,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo.
The team departed from Cilacap, Central Java, on Friday, 13 March 2026 and arrived at the Red and White KPK building at approximately 02:35 Western Indonesian Time on Saturday morning.
Budi stated that the 13 individuals transported to Jakarta included the Cilacap Regent, the Regional Secretary (Sekda), and officials from the Cilacap Local Government structure.
The individuals were brought to Jakarta for further investigation into the alleged corruption case, including to determine their status as suspects. The KPK has a 1 × 24-hour period to determine the status of those arrested in the operation, including the Cilacap Regent, who is a regional head in Central Java Province, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
“Intensive examination is still ongoing,” he said.
Previously, the KPK seized cash during the arrest operation targeting Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and 26 others.
“Evidence secured in this arrest operation includes cash,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK Red and White building in Jakarta on Friday.
Budi further stated that the money seized by the KPK is in rupiah. However, he was unable to provide more details as the funds are still being counted.
“We will update you on the amount later. This is still in process,” he said.
