Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has handed over two case files of alleged corruption involving former Commission V member of the DPR RI and the suspended Regent of Pati, Sudewo, to the Public Prosecutor’s Office (JPU).

“The JPU will prepare the indictments within a maximum of 14 days,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He noted that the KPK’s prosecutors may merge indictments for several investigation cases to make the enforcement process more effective, in line with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

The two cases involve alleged extortion of village official candidates in Pati Regency, Central Java, and alleged bribery in the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transport.

He also stressed that he does not have authority, or interference with village elections.

“Unlike when Pak Haryanto served as Regent. That should have been a village matter, but the Regent took over, and that violated the law. So, this is different,” he said.

Earlier, on 19 January 2026, the KPK conducted an arrest operation (OTT) against Sudewo in Pati Regency, Central Java.

The next day, the KPK brought Sudewo together with seven others to the Red and White Building for investigation.

They are Sudewo, Abdul Suyono, Head of Karangrowo Village; Sumarjiono, Head of Arumanis; and Sukorukun Karjan, Head of Sukorukun Village.

In addition, Sudewo was named as a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transport.
