KPK Transfers Seven of 19 Detained in West Lombok Regent Sting Operation to Jakarta

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has brought seven of the 19 individuals caught in a sting operation (OTT) involving West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini to Jakarta. “In the series of events of the sting operation, the team secured a total of 19 people, and seven of them were brought to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta this evening,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Monday. Budi stated that the seven individuals will undergo further examination by the KPK. Previously, KPK Deputy Chairperson Fitroh Rohcahyanto confirmed the sting operation against West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini. The operation is the 17th conducted by the KPK in 2026. “Correct,” Fitroh told ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday. Meanwhile, the office of the West Lombok Regent and several other rooms in the West Lombok Regency Government, West Nusa Tenggara, have been sealed by the KPK. In accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties arrested in the sting operation.
