JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined several witnesses in Malang, East Java, on Thursday (9/4/2026). The examination was carried out to trace assets allegedly related to Hery Sudarmanto (HS), the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower. “This week, investigators also conducted a marathon of examinations in Malang,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Jakarta. According to Budi, the focus of the examination is to trace assets suspected to be connected to the case currently being handled by the KPK. “This examination focuses on tracing assets allegedly owned by Mr HS. Of course, these assets are suspected to be related to the case that the KPK is handling,” he stated. In addition to the RPTKA case, the KPK is also handling other cases within the Ministry of Manpower related to occupational safety and health (K3) certification. Budi noted that the RPTKA case has a complex structure because it allegedly involves many parties, including those who no longer hold positions in the RPTKA management structure. “In the structure of the RPTKA case, there are parties who no longer hold positions in the management, but are still suspected of receiving money flows,” he revealed. This indicates allegations of systematic corruption practices. The KPK considers this case an important lesson in efforts to prevent corruption in the future. The anti-corruption agency is also opening avenues for cooperation with the Ministry of Manpower to improve systems and mitigate corruption risks. “We certainly do not want similar corruption crimes to recur in the future,” said Budi.
