JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled the questioning of former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas this week regarding allegations of corruption in the determination of the 2024 hajj quota.

Asep Guntur Rahayu, Deputy for Prosecution and Execution at the KPK, stated that the commission had already sent a summons letter to Yaqut the previous week.

“When will Yaqut Cholil Qoumas be questioned? The summons was issued last week for this week. We’ll wait and see, towards the end of the week. Thursday counts as the end of the week,” said Asep at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

“Of course we must meet the requirements for this, and in the course of this, we are summoning the person concerned and others,” he added.

It was previously reported that the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel) rejected a pre-trial lawsuit filed by Yaqut against the KPK regarding his suspect status in the hajj quota corruption case.

Single judge Sulistyo Muhamad Dwi Putro of PN Jaksel ruled that the KPK had already secured two pieces of evidence, which was sufficient to establish Yaqut as a suspect.

Yaqut had previously filed the pre-trial lawsuit to challenge the legal measures taken by the KPK against him by establishing his status as a suspect in the hajj quota corruption case.

However, after reviewing the petition, statements from all parties, and evidence presented at the hearing, the judge decided to reject all petitions.
