JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled another summons for former Minister of Transportation during the era of the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, Budi Karya Sumadi, for next week.

Budi Karya will be questioned as a witness in the corruption case within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA), specifically regarding the suspect, the former Director of Railway Infrastructure at DJKA, Harno Trimadi.

“Currently, the examination is confirmed to take place next week,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (February 25, 2026).

However, the former Minister of Transportation requested a rescheduling.

“Mr. BKS then requested a rescheduling, so investigators are still coordinating, and we are still waiting,” he said.

The KPK appealed to all witnesses to be cooperative by attending the questioning and providing the necessary information.

“So that effectively, we can uncover the case and bring it to light,” he said.

Previously, the KPK had summoned former Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi again as a witness in the corruption case within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA).

However, Budi said that investigators are still coordinating to ensure the schedule for the examination.

“Given that the witness previously requested a rescheduling,” he said.

Budi said that the KPK is currently waiting for confirmation from Budi Karya regarding today’s examination.

“We are still waiting for confirmation because every statement from the witness is needed in uncovering the case,” he said.

The panel of judges at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN) sentenced the former Director of Infrastructure of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), Harno Trimadi, to 5 years in prison.

Both are said to have received bribes related to the construction and maintenance of railway lines managed by DJKA at Kemenhub in the Fiscal Year 2018-2022, totaling Rp 2,625,000,000.

“Sentencing the defendant 1, Harno Trimadi, to a prison sentence of 5 years,” said the presiding judge, Joko Winarno, during the hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday (December 11, 2023).

In addition to the prison sentence, the former Director of Infrastructure of DJKA was also sentenced to a fine of Rp 200 million or 4 months in prison as a substitute.
