Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that it will study the legal considerations of the single judge at the South Jakarta District Court regarding the granting of the pre-trial petition submitted by the Secretary General of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Indra Iskandar.

“We will study the legal considerations that form the basis of the judge’s decision to determine the next legal steps,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Budi stated that KPK is taking this step because the pre-trial decision is not the end of law enforcement efforts, particularly regarding allegations of corruption in the procurement of office equipment for DPR RI members in the 2020 fiscal year.

“As long as there is sufficient evidence, KPK has the authority to continue the investigation process in accordance with applicable laws and regulations,” he said.

Nevertheless, Budi said that KPK respects the South Jakarta District Court’s decision on Indra Iskandar’s pre-trial petition.

“KPK respects the judge’s decision in the pre-trial hearing filed by Mr IS (Indra Iskandar) as one of the due processes of law, particularly in examining the formal aspects of this case’s investigation,” he stated.

Previously, KPK announced the investigation of the case on 23 February 2024.

On 7 March 2025, KPK named Indra Iskandar and six others as suspects in the case.

On the same date, KPK explained that the suspects had not been detained as they were awaiting the results of the state financial loss calculation by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

Then, on 14 April 2026, the South Jakarta District Court granted Indra Iskandar’s pre-trial petition, revoking his suspect status and ordering KPK to halt the investigation of the case.
