Tulungagung, East Java (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will soon search several rooms in the Tulungagung Regency Government area, East Java, which remain sealed following the hand arrest operation (OTT) against the inactive Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Wednesday said the sealing was carried out for the interests of the investigation and development of the alleged corruption case ensnaring two suspects, namely Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his aide, Dwi Yoga Ambal. “We cannot yet confirm the duration of the sealing as it adjusts to the investigators’ needs. However, a search will be conducted in the near future,” Budi said when confirmed via WhatsApp messaging service. In addition, Budi stated that the regent’s aide played an active role in the case, particularly in collecting funds from several regional device organisations (OPD). “Suspect Dwi Yoga Ambal played an active role in the construction of the extortion case against 16 OPDs in Tulungagung,” he said. Based on the investigation results, the funds successfully collected reached around Rp2.7 billion from a target of Rp5 billion. The rooms in question include the procurement of goods and services room, the procurement meeting room, and several rooms in the water resources and road infrastructure sector. Several rooms in the Pendopo Kongas Arum Kusumaning Bongso are also reported to still be sealed and cannot be used for government activities.
