KPK to probe 10 cases

MEDAN, North Sumatra: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) expects to complete its investigations into 10 alleged corruption cases by the end of this month.

Sjahruddin Rasul, a KPK deputy chairman, said he was ready to resign if the commission failed to meet the deadline.

The 10 cases are among about 200 cases reported by the public to the commission. Sjahruddin, however, refused to provide further details.

One of the cases the KPK is known to be handling is the alleged Rp 12 billion (US$1.29 million) mark-up on the price of a helicopter bought by the Aceh administration. -- JP
