KPK to Involve Puteri Indonesia in Anti-Corruption Socialisation Efforts in Regions
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) provided anti-corruption material training to 45 finalists of Puteri Indonesia 2026. It is hoped that these Puteri Indonesia finalists will later be able to disseminate anti-corruption messages to society.
The training was held at the KPK’s ACLC building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday (9/4/2026). KPK Deputy Chairman Ibnu Basuki Widodo explained that the training for Puteri Indonesia participants is routinely conducted by the KPK.
“Insyaallah, what they say will be heard by society or at least by the youth, the souls of the youth and also students who greatly admire the Puteri Indonesia event. Thus, it is hoped that these Puteri Indonesia participants will later be able to play a role in eradicating corruption through the education channel,” said Ibnu on Thursday (9/4).
On the same occasion, KPK Deputy for Community Participation, Wawan Wardiana, stated that the KPK has several prevention activities in the regions. The Puteri Indonesia participants will later be involved in those KPK activities.
“Puteri Indonesia are present in all regions and they will be involved; even last year they started to be involved, in Jogja they were already involved, this year we will perhaps do it more intensively so that Puteri Indonesia who have received training can return to their regions and we collaborate, cooperate,” said Wawan.
Furthermore, Wawan stated that collaboration with Puteri Indonesia is hoped to make anti-corruption messages more heard by society. It is hoped that this will form an integrity-filled society and officials.
“Of course, the hope is as Mr Ibnu said, society will listen more—in quotes—if it’s Puteri Indonesia speaking about or inviting discussion on anti-corruption, whereas if KPK personnel talk about anti-corruption, it’s already commonplace,” he added.
