KPK to Announce Progress on Hajj Quota Corruption Case Allegations on Monday
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will announce the latest progress in the alleged corruption case concerning the 2023-2024 Hajj quota on Monday (30/3/2026).
KPK’s Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated that the handling of this case has shown significant developments.
Nevertheless, Asep has not confirmed whether the latest developments in the alleged Hajj quota corruption case relate to the designation of new suspects.
“We will announce it later. In any case, the progress is very good,” he said.
In addition to Yaqut, the KPK also detained other suspects, namely Stasus Yaqut and Ishfah Abidal Aziz alias Gus Alex, on Tuesday (17/3/2026).
Based on calculations by the KPK together with the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), the state losses due to this corruption case amount to Rp 622 billion.
One week later, specifically on Thursday (19/3/2026), Yaqut was transferred to house arrest at the request of his family.
The transfer of detention status was only announced by the KPK on Saturday (21/3/2026), coinciding with Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. However, Yaqut was returned to formal detention on Monday (23/3/2026).
“Today, Monday, 23 March 2026, the KPK carried out the process of changing the type of detention for Suspect Brother YCQ in the case of alleged corruption in the Hajj quota, from house arrest back to KPK detention centre,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Monday evening.
