KPK to announce Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq's status this Wednesday
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will announce the status of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq, together with 13 others, on Wednesday. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the announcement would be delivered at a press conference held at the KPK’s Gedung Merah Putih in Jakarta. ‘During the press conference, we will present it in full, including the charges,’ he told journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday. However, he could not yet provide further details on the timing of the press conference. Earlier, on 3 March 2026, the KPK announced a Ramadan-time sting operation—the seventh arrest operation of the year. The KPK said it arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq along with an aide and trusted associates in the Semarang area, Central Java. Subsequently, the KPK announced the arrest of 11 other people from Pekalongan, Central Java. One of those arrested was Mohammad Yulian Akbar, Secretary of Pekalongan Regency. The KPK said the arrest related to outsourcing procurement or tenaga alih daya in several departments within the Pekalongan Regency government.
