KPK to Analyse Testimony on Alleged Rp 100 Million Flow to Gus Miftah in Railway Project Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated it will analyse witness testimony from a court hearing that mentioned an alleged flow of funds to the preacher Miftah Maulana Habiburohman, known as Gus Miftah. The statement was made during the trial of a corruption case involving a railway project in Central Java.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the testimony, which emerged in the trial of former commitment-making official Dheky Martin, is significant as it indicates that the flow of money from procurement projects at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) did not stop with the main perpetrators. The testimony, which was not denied by the convicted official, alleged that Gus Miftah received Rp 100 million.

“This testimony is important as a fact that emerged in the DJKA case trial, and it also explains that the flow of money related to these procurement projects did not stop at the main actors, but is also alleged to have flowed to other parties,” Budi said at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (14/7/2026).

Budi explained that prosecutors will first analyse the facts from the trial. The results of this analysis will serve as a basis for investigators to determine whether to develop the case further. He added that the elements of unlawful acts by the parties involved, including the motive, initiative, and purpose of the alleged payment, will be examined.

Regarding the potential seizure of the Rp 100 million, Budi said the KPK would first need to confirm the allegation through the evidentiary process. If proven, the commission can proceed with seizure, pending the assessment of the panel of judges on the testimony and trial facts. The KPK also has not ruled out summoning Gus Miftah as a witness, depending on the needs of the investigation.
