KPK Takes 12 Tulungagung Regency Officials to Surabaya Following Examination in Regent's Raid

Following the sting operation (OTT) against Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has taken 12 officials from Tulungagung Regency Government to Surabaya to undergo further examination. The group departed from Tulungagung Police Station on Saturday morning around 06:33 WIB under police escort. The 12 officials consist of several department heads, heads of regional device organisations (OPD), the regent’s aide, and one member of the Tulungagung DPRD. Meanwhile, several other officials who were previously examined were not taken to Surabaya and have been released after initial questioning. Previously, the KPK conducted the OTT against the Tulungagung Regent on Friday, 10 April, followed by examinations of several officials in the local government environment. The dozen Tulungagung Regency officials underwent questioning by KPK investigators for approximately 12 hours starting from Friday evening, 10 April 2026. In addition to the examinations, KPK investigators also conducted searches at the Tulungagung Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office. As of now, the KPK has not provided an official detailed statement regarding the case construction or the parties designated as suspects in the case.
