KPK Suspects Sudewo of Manipulating Projects in Pati Regency Through the ‘Team of Eight’

Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the inactive Regent of Pati, Sudewo, manipulated several projects in Pati Regency through the ‘Team of Eight’. It is known that the ‘Team of Eight’ is his campaign team.
“It is suspected that the ‘Team of Eight’ carried out manipulations on the orders of Mr. SDW,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters, as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, 25 February 2026.
Based on these suspicions, the KPK conducted examinations of several witnesses related to the Pati Public Works and Spatial Planning Office on 24 February 2026.
One of the witnesses was Riyoso (RYS), the Head of the Pati Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, who previously served as the Acting Regional Secretary of Pati.
“Of course, investigators are still continuing to investigate and delve into which projects are suspected of having been manipulated,” he said.
Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK confirmed that it had conducted a sting operation in Pati Regency and arrested the Regent of Pati, Sudewo.
On 20 January 2026, the KPK brought Sudewo along with seven other individuals to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta.
On the same date, the KPK announced four suspects in the case of alleged corruption related to extortion in the filling of village official positions within the Pati Regency Government.
They are the Regent of Pati, Sudewo (SDW); the Head of Karangrowo Village, Jakenan District, Abdul Suyono (YON); the Head of Arumanis Village, Jaken District, Sumarjiono (JION); and the Head of Sukorukun Village, Jaken District, Karjan (JAN).
In addition, the KPK announced that Sudewo is a suspect in the case of alleged bribery related to the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
