Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that storing corruption proceeds in safe houses is a common practice within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) at the Ministry of Finance.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the suspicion relates particularly to the alleged bribery and gratification case concerning the importation of counterfeit goods within the DJBC.

“This means that the use of safe houses for storing money is indeed a widespread modus operandi in the alleged corruption offence involving bribery related to goods importation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise,” Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Friday.

He said the KPK is currently investigating the use of safe houses for the operational activities of the suspects in the bribery and gratification case involving counterfeit goods importation.

Previously, on 4 February 2026, the KPK carried out a sting operation within the DJBC at the Ministry of Finance.

On the same date, the KPK revealed that one of those arrested in the operation was Rizal, the Head of the DJBC Regional Office for Western Sumatra.

On 5 February 2026, the KPK announced that six of the 17 individuals arrested had been named as suspects in the alleged bribery and gratification case linked to counterfeit goods importation within the DJBC.

They are Rizal (RZL), serving as Director of Enforcement and Investigation at the DJBC for the period 2024 to January 2026; Sisprian Subiaksono (SIS), Head of the Intelligence Sub-directorate for Enforcement and Investigation at the DJBC; and Orlando Hamonangan (ORL), Head of the Intelligence Section at the DJBC.

The remaining suspects are John Field (JF), owner of Blueray Cargo; Andri (AND), Head of the Import Documentation Team at Blueray Cargo; and Dedy Kurniawan (DK), Operations Manager at Blueray Cargo.
