Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects an employee of PT Len Railway Systems (LRS) with the initials UL of acting as the collector of project kickbacks in the alleged bribery case for the construction and maintenance of railway tracks at the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation (DJKA Kemenhub).

For this reason, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the employee from the subsidiary of PT Len Industri (Persero) was examined by the KPK as a witness in the DJKA Kemenhub case on Friday.

“In this examination, investigators are delving into the witness’s knowledge regarding the alleged collection of project fees (kickbacks) carried out by the witness,” Budi stated at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday.

Additionally, he said that the KPK is exploring the witness UL’s knowledge of the collected kickbacks, which are suspected to have been given to several parties at the Ministry of Transportation.

When asked about PT LRS’s role in the DJKA Kemenhub case, he stated that the KPK is only examining witness UL regarding his personal role, not specifically regarding his company.

“The examination of the witness in question, Mr UL, concerns his individual role,” he said.

Meanwhile, he mentioned that the owner of PT Dwifarita Fajarkharisma and PT Hapsaka Mas, with the initials MH, was examined as a witness in the DJKA Kemenhub case related to evidence administration.

“Earlier, it was about administration and evidence. There was no substantive examination of the individual,” he said.
