JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the practice of ijon bribery in projects at the Rejang Lebong Regency Government occurred under the direction of the inactive Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari. Fikri has been designated as a suspect in the case. β€œIn the process or mechanism carried out in the procurement of goods and services, there is allegedly conditioning done under the direction of the Regent,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, when met at the KPK Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Thursday (9/4/2026). Nevertheless, the KPK still needs to investigate the allegations further from the side of implementers, organisers, to private parties. The KPK reminds that the goods and services procurement sector is an area prone to corruption. Bribery practices do not only occur during project implementation but can also start from the planning stage. Such conditions have the potential to trigger conditioning of project winners, reduction in work quality, to manipulation of accountability reports. In the case, the KPK has named five suspects: Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari, Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department Hary Eko Purnomo, Irsyad Satria Budiman from PT Statika Mitra Sarana, Edi Manggala from CV Manggala Utama, and Youki Yudiantoro from CV Alpagker Abadi. Meanwhile, Irsyad Satria Budiman, Edi Manggala, and Youki Yudiantoro as the givers are charged with committing corruption offences and violating Article 605 paragraph (1) or Article 606 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1/2023 on the Criminal Code in conjunction with Law Number 1/2026 on Criminal Adjustment.
