KPK Suspects Money Returned by Forestry Minister Amounted to SGD 12,000
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects the money returned by Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni to non-active Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby amounted to 12,000 Singapore dollars. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated the anti-graft agency formed this suspicion after seizing SGD 12,000 from the Speaker of the Kuantan Singingi Regional House of Representatives, Juprizal, on 8 July 2026. Budi explained that the seized money is suspected to be part of the funds returned by the Ministry of Forestry. The KPK also suspects Juprizal played a role in collecting the money from approximately 914 farmers who are members of a village unit cooperative in Kuantan Singingi, a process allegedly orchestrated by Suhardiman. The case stems from a sting operation conducted by the KPK in Kuantan Singingi and Jakarta on 29 June 2026, which led to the arrest of 10 individuals. Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni previously explained that during a meeting with Suhardiman on 2 June 2026, the regent left behind an envelope. The minister stated he only realised the envelope was left behind after the meeting and subsequently ordered his aide to return it, which was done on 12 June 2026. Raja Juli Antoni reported the incident to the KPK on 3 July 2026.
