The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the flow of funds from PT Bara Kumala Sakti to DKI Jakarta councillor Bebizie Sri Mulyati was not a singing fee.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Tuesday that the money flow was suspected to be unrelated to Bebizie’s profession as an artist.

“The flow of funds from parties at PT BKS was not in the context of the person concerned carrying out her profession as an artist. It was not that, but there is an alleged flow of money that indeed had no connection with the person concerned as an artist, such as a singing fee and so on,” said Budi.

The KPK then examined Bebizie as a witness in the alleged gratuity case related to coal production on 13 August 2026.

Budi said investigators had confirmed the alleged money flow to Bebizie. During the examination, the person concerned reportedly admitted to it and agreed to return the money to the KPK.

“Regarding that allegation, investigators have confirmed it with the person concerned, and the person concerned then admitted and was willing to return the money,” he said.

“As of now, the information is that there has been no repayment. Investigators are still waiting regarding the repayment process from sister BBZ,” he said.

Previously, Bebizie said after undergoing examination at the KPK that she had explained the singing fees she earned professionally after performing at a number of events in East Kalimantan.

“I explained that in 2017–2018 I sang several times in East Kalimantan. There was a company that invited me,” said Bebizie.

The case is a development of a case that began when the KPK named Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari, President Director of PT Sawit Golden Prima Hery Susanto Gun, and Commissioner of PT Media Bangun Bersama Khairudin as suspects in an alleged gratuity case on 28 September 2017.

The KPK then developed the case and on 16 January 2018 named Rita and Khairudin as suspects in alleged money laundering.

On 19 February 2025, the KPK revealed the alleged receipt of funds by Rita from the coal mining sector amounting to around 5 US dollars per metric tonne of coal.

In the latest development, on 19 February 2026, the KPK named three corporations as suspects in the alleged gratuity case related to coal production in Kutai Kartanegara.

The three corporations are PT Sinar Kumala Naga, PT Alamjaya Bara Pratama, and PT Bara Kumala Sakti.
