The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that several Land Offices (Kantah) in the East Java region have been making monetary deposits to certain individuals within the East Java Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN).

These allegations are linked to the discovery of Singaporean and US dollar denominations, as well as hundreds of millions of rupiah, during a KPK raid on the East Java BPN Regional Office last Thursday (24/9).

“There are suspicions that land offices in the region have been depositing money to officials at the East Java BPN regional office,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when contacted on Monday (28/9).

Budi previously stated that the money found by investigators is suspected to have originated from deposits made by BPN Land Offices across East Java, in addition to payments received from service applicants.

Investigators conducted a search of the East Java ATR/BPN Regional Office in Surabaya for approximately 11 hours on Thursday (24/9), lasting from 10:00 WIB until 20:57 WIB.

The search is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption within the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

During the raid, investigators seized hundreds of millions of rupiah, Singaporean and US dollar denominations, and gold worth tens of millions of rupiah. Investigators also secured documents and electronic evidence.

The KPK has named eight individuals as suspects in the case involving alleged bribery and other illegal receipts within the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

The suspects include the Head of the Bogor I Regency Land Office, Sontang Coin Manurung; Golkar Party politician, Fahd El Fouz (alias Fahd A Rafiq); former Regent of Kebumen, Arif Sugiyanto; and the President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, Adrianto Pitojo Adhi.

The four other suspects are the Director General of Land and Spatial Control and Enforcement at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Lampri, as well as Muhammad Fakhry, Erwin, and Rizal Pahlevi.

Arif, Fahd, Erwin, and Muhammad Fakhry have been identified by the KPK as trusted associates of the Minister of ATR/BPN, Nusron Wahid.

The suspects have been detained for an initial 20-day period from 15 September to 4 October 2026. The detention is being carried out at the KPK Red and White Building Detention Centre.

In a separate sting operation (OTT) conducted in the Jabodetabek area on Monday (14/9), the KPK caught 19 individuals in the act, discovering evidence amounting to Rp106.3 billion.
