The Corruption Eradancy Commission (KPK) suspects that several land offices in East Java have been depositing money to certain individuals within the East Java Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN).

“There are allegations that land offices in the region are depositing money to certain officials at the East Java BPN Regional Office,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Sunday.

Budi disclosed these allegations after KPK investigators discovered cash in Indonesian Rupiah and foreign currencies, with a total value of approximately hundreds of millions of rupiah, during a search of the East Java BPN Regional Office on Thursday, 24 September 2026.

“In addition to receiving money from service applicants, these funds are also suspected to originate from deposits made by BPN land offices in East Java,” he said.

The KPK previously revealed that the money seized during the search consisted of Rupiah, US Dollars, and Singapore Dollars. Investigators also seized several pieces of jewellery, suspected to be gold.

This discovery serves as a lead for investigators to further probe the suspected receipt of funds within the East Java BPN Regional Office environment.

The case originated from a KPK sting operation (OTT) in the Jabodetabek area on 14 September 2026, related to alleged corruption in the processing of Building Use Rights (HGB) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor Regency, West Java.

A day after the sting operation, the KPK named eight individuals as suspects in the alleged bribery case within the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).

The suspects include the Director General of Land and Spatial Control and Enforcement at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Lampri; the Head of the Bogor I Land Office, Sontang Coin Manureung; the President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, Adrianto Pitojo Adhi; and Rizal Pahlevi, acting as a private party or intermediary for Summarecon.

Other suspects include the former Regent of Kebumen, Arif Sugiyanto; the Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP, Fahd El Fouz, also known as Fahd Arafiq; and private individuals Erwin and Muhammad Fakhry.

The KPK suspects that Arif, Fahd, Erwin, and Muhammad Fakhry are trusted associates of the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Nusron Wahid.

As part of the investigation’s development, the KPK has searched several locations, including the offices of several officials within the Ministry of ATR/BPN on 17 September, the Summarecon office in Jakarta on 18 September, and the Summarecon office in Bogor Regency on 21 September.
