REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects a civil servant (ASN) and mid-level functional official in Customs, Ahmad Dedi (AD), from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise under the Ministry of Finance, of receiving money in a suspected corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. The individual fled from pursuing journalists after being examined by the KPK today.

“Investigators today summoned several witnesses, including Mr AD. Investigators are delving into the alleged receipt from PT BR (Blueray Cargo, ed.),” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Friday.

Budi explained that the KPK suspects Ahmad Dedi received money from Blueray Cargo related to handling the importation of goods or import duties.

“There is an alleged receipt by the individual in handling duties or importing goods. This is still being thoroughly investigated,” he said. Nevertheless, he stated that the KPK cannot yet inform the public about the amount of money allegedly received by Ahmad Dedi.

“For the total, this is still part of the investigation material. So, we will wait for further developments,” he said.

Previously, on 4 February 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise under the Ministry of Finance.

In that operation, one of the parties secured was Rizal, Head of the West Sumatra Regional Customs Office.

A day after the OTT, the KPK designated six out of 17 secured individuals as suspects in the alleged bribery and gratifications case related to importing counterfeit goods within Customs.

They are Rizal (RZL) as Director of Enforcement and Investigation for Customs for the period 2024-January 2026, Sisprian Subiaksono (SIS) as Head of the Subdirectorate of Enforcement and Investigation Intelligence for Customs, and Orlando Hamonangan (ORL) as Head of the Customs Intelligence Section.

In addition, the KPK also designated John Field (JF), owner of Blueray Cargo, Andri (AND), Head of the Import Documentation Team for Blueray Cargo, and Dedy Kurniawan (DK), Operational Manager of Blueray Cargo, as suspects.

On 26 February 2026, the KPK again designated a new suspect, Budiman Bayu Prasojo (BBP), Head of the Excise Intelligence Section in the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation for Customs.

Subsequently, on 27 February 2026, the KPK revealed it was investigating alleged corruption in excise handling after seizing Rp5.19 billion in cash in five suitcases from a house in Ciputat suspected to be related to the case.

On 8 May 2026, several journalists waited for Ahmad Dedi to finish being examined by the KPK in his capacity as a witness in the case. However, he immediately ran upon seeing the journalists and entered a hotel located next to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta.
