The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has interrogated Randy Kusumaatmadja, the former personal assistant to the former Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil (RK). Based on Randy’s interrogation, the KPK suspects the former assistant’s bank account served as a repository for funds involved in an advertising procurement case.

“The investigators are convinced that the witnesses summoned, including the personal assistant to the Governor of West Java, Mr. RK, are suspected of knowing about the inflow and outflow of money, including the management of those funds, what they were used for, and which operational activities they funded. All of this is being investigated deeply,” said spokesperson Biddie Prasetyo to journalists at the KPK Merah Putih building, South Jakarta, on Thursday (1/10/2026).

Randy’s interrogation is linked to alleged corruption in advertising procurement at BJB. It is suspected that half of the total advertising procurement funds entered Randy’s account before being distributed to various parties.

“Out of the total funds of approximately Rp400 billion, only about 50% was truly real for procurement, while the other 50% is suspected to have entered non-budgetary funds, which were then distributed to various parties. This is what is being traced,” said Budi.

“Therefore, the personal assistant’s testimony is highly needed because they may have acted as a hub for the placement of incoming funds, their intended use, who issued the orders, and to whom the funds flowed; all of this is being scrutinised,” he added.

KPK investigators, according to Budi, previously conducted an in-depth study regarding RK’s activities as Governor of West Java, both official and non-official. This investigation also concerns the budgets used, specifically whether they were entirely funded by the Regional Budget (APBD) or other sources.

“We are investigating the source of these tactical funds, their purpose, and the recipients. This includes investigating official trips undertaken by Mr. RK, who accompanied him, and whether they were officially authorised by the West Java Provincial Government or involved other parties. This forms the material for the investigation of this case,” said Biddia.

According to Budi, the investigation includes the purchase of a Royal Enfield and a Mercedes-Benz, which have already been seized by the KPK. Notably, the payment for the Mercedes-Benz has not been fully settled by RK.

“That is included. Therefore, assets suspected to have been purchased or related to the case have been seized. The Mercedes-Benz was allegedly purchased by Mr. RK but is not yet fully paid for; only half the payment has been made. Consequently, the KPK only seized the value of the amount already paid by Mr. RK to the seller,” he added.

RK’s former personal assistant, Randy, has been interrogated three times, specifically on Thursday (21/1), Monday (14/9), and Wednesday (30/9). The interrogations took place at the West Java Regional Police office and the PU Competency Development Centre Region IV in Bandung. In previous sessions, investigators questioned Randy regarding the transaction history in his accounts.

“Investigators are confirming the transactions in the witnesses’ accounts,” Budi told journalists on Monday (14/9).

In this case, the KPK has named five suspects in the alleged advertising procurement case. The actions of these five individuals are suspected to have caused state losses of up to Rp222 billion. The KPK suspects the money entered as funds to meet non-budgetary needs.

The four individuals already in detention are:

  1. Widi Hartoto, Head of Corporate Secretary Division at Bank BJB (2020-2024)

  2. Ikin Asikin Dulmanan, Director of PT Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri & Owner of PT Antedja Muliatama

  3. Sophan Jaya Kusuma, Commissioner of PT Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama

  4. Suhendrik, Director of PT Wahana Semesta Bandung Ekspres

The suspects are charged under Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes.
