KPK suspects Fadia Arafiq deliberately replaced the board of PT Raja Nusantara Berdaya as a cover

Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq (FAR) deliberately replaced the directors of PT Raja Nusantara Berdaya (RNB), the family-owned company, as a mere cover or to obscure the true owner. The directorate change refers to Muhammad Sabiq Ashraff, also Fadia Arafiq’s son and a member of the Pekalongan Regency DPRD, being replaced by Rul Bayatun, the regent’s trusted aide. ‘To someone who does not know and understand, they would think this company has no connection to the Regent because the family link is not visible, as it is the trusted aide,’ said Deputy for Enforcement and Execution KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday. Asep said the directorate change occurred in 2024, or two years after PT RNB was established in 2022. Previously, on 3 March 2026, KPK announced a series of arrest operations during Ramadan, also marking the seventh arrest of the year. The KPK said it arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq together with aides and trusted associates in the Semarang area, Central Java. It then announced the arrest of 11 other people from Pekalongan, Central Java. On 4 March 2026, the KPK named Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in a case of alleged corruption relating to outsourcing services procurement or labour outsourcing, and other procurement in the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023–2026 fiscal year.
