KPK suspects businessman secured Rp2.1 billion in projects after facilitating bribe for official post

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles (ARD), obtained several government projects totalling Rp2.1 billion after assisting Zulkarnain (ZKN) in bribing the Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Suhardiman Amby (SA), to facilitate job promotions.

Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, stated that Ardiles allegedly played a role in helping Zulkarnain secure the position of Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR) in Kuansing in 2021. According to Taufik, Ardiles lent his identity to Zulkarnain to apply for a credit purchase of a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar worth Rp700 million, which was subsequently given to Suhardiman while he was serving as the Acting Regent of Kuansing.

“ARD subsequently won 13 projects within the PUPR Office in 2022, with a total value reaching Rp1.2 billion,” Taufik said at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

In the same case, Ardiles again lent his identity for a credit application to purchase a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.05 billion, which was then handed over to Suhardiman during his tenure as Regent of Kuansing.

“ARD again emerged as a winner for projects across several departments and the Regional Secretariat of Kuansing in 2025 and 2026, with a value exceeding Rp900 million,” Taufik added.

Based on preliminary findings by investigators, Ardiles is suspected of obtaining government projects worth a total of approximately Rp2.1 billion between 2022 and 2026 after helping Zulkarnain meet Suhardiman’s demands regarding job promotions.

From this group, five individuals have been brought to the KPK Red and White Building for intensive interrogation, including three private sector parties, one civil servant from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, and Suhardiman’s wife, Suci Nitia Edwar.

The KPK subsequently requested Suhardiman and Zulkarnain to surrender themselves on 30 June 2026. Both were later picked up by investigators at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

On 1 July 2026, the KPK officially named Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as suspects in the alleged bribery case involving the sale and purchase of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, Riau.
